The whole story about Villa Maria.
From this sunny paradise here among the Fellinis...
About us...
Villa Maria is truly an oasis in the middle of the city. This wonderful and slightly bohemian-romantic environment: high ceilings, oak parquet laid in 1905 and gorgeous Art Nouveau doors in the color of a dream. Window sills broken by time and a slightly creaky garden gate.
Interior design full of small details and reflecting the soul of the hostess. Stories behind every taste experience.
This whole set will take your soul to a place where there is only brightness and satisfaction. Life seems much more beautiful when you are here. Much more colorful. You have time here to enjoy every taste and look your companion in the eye. Discuss the world with a friend. Tell stories and share memories.
Accept smiles and smile back. :)
This is the magical reason that captivated the current housewives, Kristel and Li-Sandra, as clients, when they arrived here in the spring of 2022.
When the previous owner opened the restaurant in the summer of 2021 as a 100% vegan restaurant, in 2022 the menu was changed so that everyone could enjoy it. The change of ownership took place on November 1, 2022. We remained Mediterranean in our menu, but now we focus more on the traditional diet. Considering the silky digestion of people today, we keep a firm line and use only lactose-free dairy products and controlled spices in our recipes. However, vegetarians don't have to be left out - we keep you in mind when putting together our menus.

... and the house.
This sunny yellow house where Villa Maria operates is a very dignified and listed gem, which was left to his family
In 1909, the secretary of the Viljandi Land Registry Office, Oskar Gabler, built his home. ( Gableri Villa )
During the occupation, the authorities at the time found another use for the house. The villa became a pioneer house. Model cars were assembled here and ballet was danced. People sang and rejoiced despite all the dark times.
In 1995, with the support of the Finnish state, a house was built for the Estonian Ingrian-Finnish Union. To this day, as firmly as the Amen in the church, the Ingrian-Finns of Viljandi continue to gather here to sing and dance, to honor their culture and customs. So that the common spirit can last!
